There are few better ways to get into the festive spirit than by visiting a Christmas market or fair. Across Cornwall in the coming weeks there are plenty to help banish the inner-Grinch. Not only is a Christmas fair the perfect way to ignite some festive cheer, but they are also a fab place to pick up some local crafts and gifts, for your loved-ones of course. We're lucky to have 5 fabulously festive fairs all within 20 miles of our door.

1. Cornwall Winter Fair, Wadebridge
17th November 2018
Distance: 5 miles
Celebrate all that’s great about Cornish farming and food at this free event held entirely under cover within the Exhibition Halls at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre, Wadebridge. An array of Cornish food and drink producers will be on hand to show you how they create their quality products, and you’ll get a chance to try and of course purchase their delicacies. There will also be craft stalls selling locally created gifts.

2. Healey’s Christmas Markets
Every Fri, Sat & Sun: 23rd November- 16th December 2018
Distance: 20 miles
Last Christmas, Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm held its very first European-style festive Christmas Markets and tasting experience attracting thousands from far and wide to one of Cornwall’s favourite attractions at its merry best. This year, Healey’s Christmas Markets are back over the weekends from the 23rd of November to the 16th of December, set to be bigger and better and bubbling with new Christmassy elements spread around the festive farm.

3. Charlestown Christmas Market
24th November 2018
Distance: 18 miles
A first for this year, the Charlestown Christmas Market promises to be everything you’d expect with a sprinkle of Poldark magic.  Browse the food, drink and craft traders, enjoy live entertainment, and a few surprises.  A bus service will be running between the market, based at Penrice Academy, and the harbour down the road.

4. Fowey Christmas Market
30th November – 2nd December 2018
Distance: 20 miles
Fowey comes alive with the spirit of Christmas, hosting a  market of local products from photography and food to affordable stocking fillers. The market takes place throughout the town centre with festive activities and shopping opportunities.  Its main draw being the Christmas Markets on Town Quay, Albert Quay, Webb Street and the Town Hall.

5. Padstow Christmas Festival
6th – 9th December 2018
Distance: 2 miles
Nestled on the edge of Padstow’s pretty harbour, where fishing boats twinkle under fairy lights, this is a Christmas market with a foodie twist. Not only can you get your hands on Cornwall’s finest foodstuffs from hand-made chocolates to chutneys, there will also be also chef demos. And it’s not all about food – there’s an array of presents to choose from including wooden toys, art, decorations and clothing.
