Whoever you are, whatever you’re like, no matter what kind of Cornish holiday cottages you’re looking for, the sheer variety of what our coastline offers ensures there’s something for everyone: young or old, mooching or surfing, watching or doing, never-resting or often-snoozing …
Even within the context of the north coast, which is mainly waves, cliffs, giant beaches and non-stop drama, there are more or less shallow, sheltered and family-friendly spots.
For example, we’re close to both Rock (to the east of the Camel Estuary) and Padstow (opposite, to the west); both are big enough to absorb the numbers drawn by their liveliness, beauty, big sands and great surf. But we’re also close to Daymer Bay and Greenaways Beach: smaller, more hidden, great for safe swimming, rock-pooling, dunes and an inland wander to (for example) St Enodoc Church, where the former Poet Laureate, John Betjeman, is buried.
We somehow haven’t even managed to mention Polzeath yet, either, and that’s a lovely, lively, Blue Flag beach where it’s easy to park and equally straightforward to find yourself a lovely spot for eating and / or drinking.
These are just the most St Moritz-adjacent places, hardly any distance away: but the county’s coastline is vast, and regardless of the direction you take you’ll find a beach worth the trip, with the (general, but not cast-iron) condition that the north coast is mainly bigger seas and boards, the south being more sheltered and easier for swimming and sailing.
All of these options are right on your doorstep, whatever kind of stay you’re thinking of booking.
And if you are still at the planning stage, it’s worth keeping in mind the amazing blend of space and seclusion to be enjoyed if you stay in one of our luxury Cornish holiday cottages.

They make all kinds of holiday possible all at the same time: you can construct yourselves packed, all-day timetables of interest and exertion if that’s your thing, or, if you’d rather, you can stay put, wrap yourselves in luxury, hunker down and enjoy …
