Coastal Cosiness - St Moritz Hotel

The Danish word ‘Hygge’ has exploded in popularity recently and roughly translates to cosiness. In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Cosying up with a loved one – that’s hygge, too. And there's nothing more hygge than sitting around with friends and family, discussing the big and small things in life.

At St Moritz, we have all the ingredients to make your stay with us a perfect ‘hygge’ experience and here’s why…

Windy walks

There is a four-mile walk that takes you along the Southwest Coast Path around the headland at Trebetherick Point. The route has wonderful views across the Camel Estuary and the Doom Bar to Stepper Point and Hawkers Cove. You can visit St Enodoc church on your way or if you fancy a wild swim or a picnic on the beach en route you are spoilt for choice, with Polzeath Beach, Greenaway Beach and Daymer Bay.

Cowshed Spa

St Moritz is as much about downtime as it is playtime and for the less adventurous guest, the Cowshed Spa is the ultimate space to unwind, relax alone or with friends and enjoy a glass of bubbles or herbal tea.

Get some bliss-time all to yourself in one of our six treatment rooms or for a romantic treat, couples can enjoy the luxury of a massage side-by-side in our double room.

With a choice of scents for your treatment, we’re sure that whether you’re feeling anxious, tired or in need of revitalising, the Cowshed spa will have something for you. Looking to extend your ‘hygge’ experience? Why not purchase a candle to take back to your room?

Leisure

In the spirit of relaxation (and what that means to you), St Moritz leisure building houses the heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi with adult-only swim times from 7 am – 8 am & 6 pm – 7 pm daily-an early morning refreshing dip before breakfast, or a late evening glide could be the perfect way to start or end your day.

Besides walks, the spa and the leisure facilities, there are cosy little corners, comfy sofas and throws around the hotel-snuggle up with a warm drink, read a book or just have an afternoon nap.

This is the place for optimum relaxation, rejuvenation, or adventure.
