Showcasing Cornwall produce at its best, Padstow Christmas Festival brings together chefs, local food producers and crafts-folk to celebrate Christmas in a captivating waterside setting. Last year, the festival attracted a record 40,000 visitors with this year set to be even bigger.
The festival market is bursting with gifts and produce from local producers including our very own Cowshed spa. Your Christmas shopping has never been so easy! It doesn’t end there… Home to two cookery demonstration theatres, Padstow festival attracts some a number of award-winning chefs. The Sharp’s Brewery Demonstration Theatre will host demonstrations from culinary heroes including Michael Caines, Rick Stein, Nathan Outlaw and Emily Scott. Food lovers will also delight in the Festival Kitchen theatre, showcasing local chefs, the county's best produce and artisan skills.
Yuletide entertainment throughout the weekend includes the arrival of Santa, fireworks, live music, carol concerts and a lantern parade. This is not to be missed!
Friday 4 - Sunday 6 December 2015
A weekend of festive entertainment, food and drink along with plenty of opportunities to pick up some great Christmas gifts in the stunning location of Fowey.
There will be festive entertainment on Friday 4th December from 5.00pm – 8.30pm. Santa will be arriving by tug to Berril’s Yard. There will be a lantern parade and samba band follow Father Christmas to the church gates where the Christmas lights will be switched on. ristmas lights Indulge yourselves with live music, hog roast and mulled wine.
Trading will take place all day Saturday and Sunday. Live Events South West are arranging the exciting selection of traders in the Town Quay Marquees and there will be local crafts in the Webb Street Market and Town Hall. There will also be a second market place within Fowey Leisure Centre with a regular mini-bus service between the two.
Saturday 12 December - Saturday 2 January
Head to the far west to see the famous Mousehole Christmas lights. Mousehole-based artist Joan Gillchrest started the tradition over 50 years ago with just two strings suspended across the harbour. From those early days the display has grown considerably (that’s an understatement!) and always promises to be one of the most impressive in Cornwall.
The 2015 ‘switch-on’ will take place on Saturday 12 December at 7pm and will include an open-air Carolaire service at the entrance to the North Quay.
It doesn't get better than Christmas at St Moritz! Christmas Eve is a time for carol singing, lashings of mulled wine and lashings of mulled wine. On Christmas Day there will be stockings on every hotel door before Father Christmas makes his all important appearance. Indulge in a Buck’s Fizz and carry out your all-important traditions while we stuff the turkey and light the log fire. Our Christmas lunch is guaranteed to be a festive feast and we have a guided walk on Boxing day so you can stroll off any over-indulgence.
