In conjunction with the charity, Kids in Museums, the Family Friendly Museum Award was presented at the Telegraph newspaper offices last week. The award is the biggest museum award in Britain, and the only one judged by families. Director of the museum, Jonathan Griffin, said the team were “absolutely ecstatic” of the news. He added, “Working with children isn’t an add-on for us, it’s at the heart of what we do.”
We are not surprised the museum won the award – it has so much more to offer than just boats. Lose yourself in British maritime history, get hands-on in workshops, touch Ben Ainslie’s boat from the 2012 Olympic Games, and appreciate one of only three natural underwater galleries in the world.
Make a splash this October half term! Visit the museum to join in with arts and crafts and storytelling activities for the whole family. Click here for the full list of activities.
Our Half Term Happiness deal starts from just £540 and includes 3 nights for the price of 2, FREE Mini Moritz Kids Club, 2 hour surf lesson each day with Wavehunters, beach games, Halloween activities and lots more family fun!
