Great Cornish Food Festival

The Great Cornish Food Festival (formerly known as Cornwall Food & Drink) returns this September with a fresh new name and new look to kick start the festival's second decade!

Remaining the biggest celebration anywhere dedicated to solely Cornish food and drink, The Great Cornish Food Festival takes to the streets of Truro in the heart of Cornwall again this year from September 26th – September 28th.

Click here to watch a video of the festival from a previous year and read below for the inside scoop for 2014!

The three-day foodie festival champions and celebrates the remarkable revolution of food in drink in Cornwall that has happened over the last decade.  With a jam-packed 3-day calendar of events including everything from your little ones trying their hand at baking, eating, shopping, drinking and entertainment from the county’s talented and most adored chefs, the festival is set to be a real paradise for not only today’s lovers of food, but the next generation of chefs, brewers, growers and producers.

There will be street-style pop-up Croust Kitchens from a selection of Cornwall’s top restaurants, including our very own St Moritz Hotel kitchen, offering a taster of some of the dishes that head chef Jamie Porter and his team cook in therestaurant.  You’ll find Artisan producers of the finest Cornish food and drink in abundance, sampling and selling the best of the best, including a personal local favourite of ours, the award winning Sharp’s Brewery.  With Cornwall’s favourite chocolatiers, cheesemongers, bakers, butchers and brewers all sampling their wares, wearing an elastic waistband to the festival perhaps should be the recommended attire!

Once you’ve filled your shopping bags with all sorts of Cornish goodies, head over to the Chef’s Theatre to watch some of the top chef’s take to the stage, including Nathan Outlaw, Jack Stein and our very own Jamie Porter, cooking up a storm and offering expert advice and inspiration.

Jamie Porter will be working his magic on the demo stage at 11am on Sunday 28th September.

Free to enter and accessible to all, The Great Cornish Food Festival is definitely a date to put in your diary!
