Late Summer Things To Do in Cornwall

The end of Summer is an amazing time to visit Cornwall.  Lighter evenings, quieter beaches and warmer weather means that you can stay on the sand as late as you like, dine al fresco by the outdoor pool or share a bottle of wine on the terrace as the sun goes down.  We’ve put together our five favourite suggestions for late summer activities for guests visiting St Moritz.

Go to the Beach

We couldn’t really suggest anything else could we?  When in Cornwall do as the locals do.  We are in the best position for visiting the nearby coves with Rock, Polzeath, Daymer Bay and a beach just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel.  If you fancy visiting renowed Rock or Polzeath beaches just let us know, there’s a complimentary Land Rover service there and back each day for hotel guests.

Eat Ice Cream overlooking Padstow Harbour

Padstow is only a short drive from the hotel and a wonderful day out.  Explore the bijou winding Cornish streets, the pretty little cottages and lovely shops full of tempting treats to take home.  But the best bit is simply sitting on a bench overlooking the harbour with a proper Cornish ice cream.

Go Surfing

Whether you’re an experienced surfer or have never even donned a wetsuit, we highly recommend an afternoon learning to surf.  With a variety of local surf schools and instructors, there is bound to be one to suit your level and which will get you cruising the Cornish waves in no time.  Why not book a massage in the Cowshed spa afterwards to release those tight muscles?

Spend an Afternoon at the Sea Side

We don’t mean at the actual seaside, we’re talking about our poolside restaurant.  With sweeping views to the coast and the opportunity to cool down in the pool before lunch, delicious food paired with impeccable service makes this the ideal choice for a relaxed afternoon.

Visit The Minack Theatre

World renowned Minack Theatre is a must-visit when in Cornwall.  It’s a slight drive from the hotel but worth every second to be enjoying a show on the edge of a Cornish cliff, exposed to the elements.  The best time of year to go (for obvious reasons), pack something soft to sit on and some layers and enjoy a night of pure entertainment as the sun sets above the sea.
These are just five of our favourite activities for things to do in Cornwall towards the end of the summer.  Are you planning a visit at this time of year?  What have you got planned?
Check out our 3 for 2 offer running this September here.  The perfect excuse to visit.
